Lukes gonna be a Big Brother!

Wednesday night I took a pregnancy test and it showed up positive, but it was very faint. So I took another and finally a digital one, it said PREGNANT. We were very excited to find out, poor Nick was on the phone all night with work. But we still got to celebrate. I went to Kholes to get Luke a big brother shirt and I got him some chocolate while we were in the store, little did I know the stupid chocolate was like 5 bucks. Note to self: Do not open anything until you pay for it. One of the many things that drives Nick nuts. lol I learned my lesson finally. We put Luke in his shirt and drove to his nana and papa Hammonds house to give the good news. Luke walked in the door and said look at my shirt. They were very surprised and happy. It got late so we decided to head home and call it a night. Friday we drove to my moms house and Luke wore his shirt again and my mom didn't get it at first, it was funny. It did not register for a few minutes but once it did, she was bouncing up and down. Next stop, we took Luke to the Floyd Knobs Jayc to expose the secret to my dad. I told my dad to read Lukes shirt and he said cute, then it registered and he was like WOAW, Really?! I cracked up for a while. Then he went around like a proud papaw and told some people he works with. Then we made a stop at my dads to tell my brother Jeshua who read the shirt but didnt get it that fast.lol Luke played a video game with Uncle Jeshua for a bit then we were exhausted.Saturday night, we went to Rockys for Lauras bday dinner. When she came in we told her to read Lukes shirt and she was like really. It was funny an she was the only one to get it right away.  Finally Sunday, we had a family cookout over at Nicks  parents and the whole family was there. Luke wore his shirt yet once again to share the news. I've washed this shirt like four times already. lol The secret is out now, and we are proudly pregnant with our little Layla or Matthew. I would love to have a little girl but if it is a boy, I know I will be having lots of fun with two boys. Just as long as it is healthy, i really don't care the gender. God has blessed us with this amazing gift. I'm so excited.

Another Day

Today has been a fun one. Luke woke me up early this morning by sitting ontop of me and saying "your a sweetheart!" It was too cute. We got ready this morning and I dropped luke off with my cousin Onna. I went in the house and Baby Max was adorable, he was smiling so much this morning. He is walking like crazy now. So I took off and headed for the elemantary school to see some of my favortie kiddos. Ofcourse one of them was not there, but i still got to visit with the other children. I have to say that the school system needs more help in special needs. The ladies there work so hard every minute of the day. They find it hard to even squeeze in a lunch. They are awesome people who work with the best kids ever. I took advantage of the situation and ran to the grocery on the way to pick Luke up. Finally I picked Luke up and we headed to the house for nap time. I have to say naptime has been so groovy lately. I put a pillow and blankie on the counch and said lets take naps. Next thing ya know Barney is on and he is out. I am very thankful for naptime. with that i started dinner only to find out my oven is NOT working. First it was the fridge and now the oven. oh well. Dinner was really good though: marinated onions, red and green bell peppers, seasoned potatoes, and turkey polish sausage. yum. Nicks favorite meal. He keeps reminding me. I love to cook for my man. Tonight Luke and I went for a relaxing walk after dinner while Nick went to guitar practice. He ate his huge sucker along the way. I will be throwing that thing away after tonight. lol :) When we got home Luke helped me gather all the trash in the house and we took the trash out and the cans to the road. Luke is such a good helper when it comes to cleaning. Daddy was very happy we took it out for him. It is so important to do special things for your spouse even if they are the smallest things like taking the trash out. We wrapped up the dishes and colored a bit. Luke is working on his colors but we are struggling. Hopefully with all the coloring and playdoh, he will know them soon. Kids amaze me with how much they pick up on. Note to self: stop saying "Oh my Gosh"!! I have to stop. I am gonna get Luke off to bed, it is late and he is sleepy! p.s. we will know if we are pregnant or not in a couple more days, and I can hardly wait! <3 If I am not pregnant this time then it is not meant to be. peace out

No other place like Tennessee

Oh i wish i was still in Tennessee! This weekend was by far the best vacation I have had this year. Friday night we drove down to Celina, TN to spend the weekend with my family. Saturday morning we woke up and went to my Mamaws and Papaws house for a yummy yummy breakfast. She made chocolate gravy just for me!! We got her homemade buttermilk biscuits, which i dont know anyone else who can make them as good as her! And some sausage, eggs, and bacon. There is no other food as good as my mamaws biscuits and chocolate gravy. I could eat it for every meal. My Aunt Martha and cousin Ben were there to and i havent seen them in forever. After stuffing our faces we sat around and talked and looked at old photos, which i always do every single time I come down. Afterwards,we went to my Aunt Theresas and met up with her, my cousin Tiffany, her husband Caleb, and their son Elijah. We drove up to a store called Roses and it was super cheap stuff. I got an entire outfit for 11 bucks, which is good or i wouldnt of bought it. The boys rode the ride outside the store literally 7-8 times. That was their treat, lol for being so good in the store. We planned on doing some yards sales but we had too much fun visiting and talking, we didnt get out in time. After stopping for ice cream, we drove back to Aunt Theresas. The guys got their guitars out and started playing while Tiffany sang. My favorite part of the trip every single time I am down there is the music. They sing and play so beautifully. They did Kutless, Casting Crowns, and Third Day. And ofcourse, The Lighthouse which is my absolute favorite song EVER. I'm so lucky to have family who enjoy sitting down and actually visiting with eachother. We sat there all afternoon up until 11pm just singing, playing guitar, and talking. We had to force oursleves to get up and go to bed. We could of been there all night but we had to get ourselves and the little ones to bed for church in the morning.  Sunday morning they had a guest preaching and you could feel the message. Luke was able to stay in the sanctuary, except for one little incident. He decided to act up, Nick took him outside of the building and spanked him but you could hear him all the way inside the building crying. i'm just glad I wasnt the only mother whose child had to get taken out and get whooped. lol Oh finally someone elses child acted up to. Not saying i want other children to act up, but it is kinda embarrasing when my child is the only child being loud. Nick brought him back in church once the fit was over and he decided to be good. Boy did he cling to us afterwards though and didnt say a word. Sometimes a good apnking is what it takes. After church we went to my Aunt Theresas house to meet up with all the family. Aunt Theresa made lunch and her yummy beer battered bread. I will be calling her this week to get that recipe. We sat around, talked, and visited some more until our trip came to an end. When we took off, Luke fell asleep in 10 minutes of being on the road.whewhoo. While we were down there, Nicks phone held a record of no phone calls for almost 48 hours, WOW. We couldnt believe it, and hopefully he won't have to work the weekend we plan on going again. The trip was so much fun! God has really blessed my life with such an amazing family who loves Jesus and honors him every day. I am so excited to go down there again in less then a month.

The Force is Strong

Today has been busy! This morning around 5:30 we found luke asleep in front of his drumset. I wish i snapped a picture but by the time i went back in there he woke up to crawl in bed with me. Finally we fell back asleep and didnt get up til almost nine. which never happens at our house. So we spent the whole day hanging up laundry and washing more laundry; yes it was an all day event. We finally got out around 1, i dropped luke off at my sisters house. I dropped more things off at goodwill. I took lots of junk to once upon a child and platos closet. Man, they hardly give any money for name brand things, i dont understand it. But whatever i got about 20 bucks to add to our Tennessee fund. I hurried to get luke so we can get home and pack since we decided to leave tonight. I am so excited to go. Lukey is enjoying dinner with nana and papa at copper kettle while i wrap up last minute things. gotta get on it, everyone have a good and safe weekend.

Fun Times

Today was another fun day. My sister and the kids came over again. After everyone left, Luke and I got ready and went swimming with the Charlestown Independent Church Mommy Group. After being in the pool for like twenty minutes, it started raining. But we still had fun, we went inside and fed the kids and visited for a while. When we left my gas light came on and i realized my wallet wasnt in the car. oops oh well we made it home anyways. And I was okay with that since he fell asleep by the time we were out of their driveway. Luke took a nap when we got home while i enjoyed doing the laundry. It was actually relaxing folding laundry today, weird i know. Finally he woke up and we went outside and enjoyed some cooling off time with the hose. Next time I wont give Luke the hose if i dont plan on getting wet. He did an excellent job at spraying my feet until he realized he wanted to spray my phone. Luckily nothing was damaged. We had a blast and it felt so good. So we got both dogs and washed trubadour and King. The dogs did seem excited about the bath from being outside in this heat. Poor King, he was such a trooper when Luke was washing him and spraying him off. I love my dog, and i guess nicks dog is growing on me now to. I still dont understand why when it rains, they never go in their dog houses. Silly dogs. When Nick came home from guitar practice, we got to go to outback and eat free food- woot whoot!! Can't beat free, and we left with $25 dollars on our gift card still. So grateful for free food and i didnt have to cook. Lots of laundry and cleanign to do before our trip to Tennessee. I am so ready to see my Mamaw and Papaw, I miss them so much. Mamaw gets a procedure done next week in Missouri, so if anyone would like to say a prayer it would be appreciated. til next time

enjoying life

Luke slept in until 8 this morning, while i was up at 6 ofcourse. My sister and the four kids came over, we hung out in our pajamas and just relaxed all day. It was so nice not haing to go anywhere. We had panckaes, fried bologna, and some eggs thanks to my sis who cooked all of it. Then we surprised my dad and two brothers at their house with the crew of kids. We all stormed in and they were laughin histerically by the load of kids that kept coming in. You think he would be used to it by now, lol. I guess you never get used to 7 people showing up at your house with five kids who were ready for naps. it was fun!! I cooked dinner and got bored so finally decided to do a blog apparently. Luke is obsessed with C.Morgans International harvester and its driving me nuts because he wants to keep watching the video. We called wee ones and it is possible luke can start preschool in January, now the question is is that too early? opinions are welcome. well this is it for the day til next time.
